The Victoria Inn Colchester hosts its first tap takeover of 2026 this weekend, welcoming Chelmsford craft brewery Radio City Beer Works to the pumps.
Founded in 2017, Radio City have quickly built a reputation across Essex for modern craft beers brewed with a focus on flavour and balance. Everything is brewed, conditioned, canned and labelled by hand at their Chelmsford brewery.
The team now brew on a 30-hectolitre kit, fermenting and conditioning their beers in unitanks before cold-crashing and carbonating them ahead of kegging and canning. In 2022, they also opened their own taproom in central Chelmsford.
For the takeover at The Vic, which starts on Friday, 27th March, drinkers will be able to try a range of Radio City beers across the bar, giving a snapshot of what the brewery does.
Dan Harvey, owner and head brewer, will be at the pub on the night along with Ryan Vaughan, taproom manager and brewing assistant, so there will be plenty of opportunity to talk beer and hear about the brewery’s Chelmsford operation.
Tap takeovers have become a regular part of the calendar at The Victoria Inn, alongside other events here, bringing independent breweries into the pub and giving customers the chance to try something different on the pumps.
